SE2 Celebrates CHC Gold Leaf Awards...and the Not-So-Open Bar

SE2 was recently honored with a Bronze Leaf Award from Colorado Healthcare Communicators for the creation of the Colorado Hospital Association’s 2008 Colorado Hospitals Community Benefits Report.

The Community Benefits Report was sent to 3,000 state and local elected officials, key media contacts and hospital personnel around the state and served as the central collateral piece for CHA’s 2009 Legislative Reception. The Report garnered media coverage from around the state and was lauded by many of CHA’s member hospitals. Additionally, through writing the report, SE2 gathered significant data used to strengthen CHA’s messaging.

If you look here you can witness the fame and glory achieved by the three SE2 staff who attended the event. Keep on scrolling down until you reach the grouping of three photos from the event─ Now if you look closely at the bottom of the three photos you will see that Amy, Kate and Sylvia are all featured! (And by featured we mean they appear in a random crowd shot where they are caught in various stages of their comings and goings from the bar).

New SE2 associate brings smiles, not tears

SE2’s new associate, Delores Tronco, joins our firm by way of 9Health Fair and El Pomar Foundation – two organizations that helped her hone skills that directly complement the range of SE2’s services. From coordinating media to planning special events, cultivating donors to designing marketing materials, Delores brings experience that will certainly help us meet client needs.

A self-professed “foodie,” she also claims to know how to cut an onion without crying. Is it the bread trick? Wearing goggles? Neither. She says that it’s all in the knife – the sharper the knife, the fewer the tears.

We’ve yet to see that magic put to the test but, if her early weeks at SE2 are any indication, Delores is true to her word. When it comes to this new SE2 employee, we’re all smiles.

CollegeInvest launches “Smart” new college savings plan

Kudos to long-time SE2 client CollegeInvest, Colorado’s not-for-profit higher education financing resource, for teaming up with FirstBank to provide the new FDIC-insured Smart Choice 529 college savings plan.

National 529 expert Andrea Feirstein calls it a “Smart” move for Colorado. In its story on Smart Choice, The Wall Street Journal says “stock market volatility has moved even traditional stock-market investors toward more conservative investments.” (subscription required) The Denver Business Journal quotes Gov. Bill Ritter thanking CollegeInvest and FirstBank “for helping families to overcome the financial barriers of higher education by offering this new plan.”
