New SE2 associates bring skills in communications (and arcade basketball)

We’re excited to announce the hiring of our two new associates, Jill Hamilton and Laura Giocomo.

Jill comes to SE2 with significant experience in development and communications from an international nonprofit. An expert organizer of information and people, Jill has some serious chops in fundraising and grant writing. She loves adventure and bacon.

Laura joined SE2 after working for Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper as the director of scheduling. During her tenure, she not only gained a unique understanding of policy issues facing the city but also developed expertise in messaging and strategy. In addition, she’s unstoppable at arcade basketball.

SE2 is thrilled to welcome our two new associates and to use their valuable skills and knowledge to contribute to our niche of public policy and issue communications.

Marian Medical Center – A Hospital with Heart

Our client, Marian Medical Center, in Santa Maria, CA successfully kicked off Heart Month last week with an event targeting, well, everyone with a pulse. (Ha ha.)

The MegaHeart Health Fair brought people of all ages to the hospital’s campus to learn about heart disease – this nation’s number one cause of death. SE2 helped Marian to promote the event starting with the communications strategy, and went on to develop a variety of print materials, English and Spanish radio spots and signage.

A “huge success” according to our client, the event was attended by more than 700 people and received front page coverage in the local newspaper, The Santa Maria Times.

Post Publishes SE2 Column on Wild Adventures in Rural CO

To gather stories of landowners benefiting from Colorado's conservation easement tax credit program, I headed out in my Subaru to seven privately-owned farms and ranches spread out from Grand Junction to Pagosa Springs. Along the way, I not only got to sample some amazing home-cooked chili, I also got to know the people behind the program and witness their inspirational commitment to preserving Colorado's majestic open lands. The Denver Post published an editorial sharing my thoughts on this unique and surprising experience (especially to a girl who hails from Chicago!)
