I fought the law and the law won
Every day at SE2 is filled with valuable lessons. Whether studying the AP Stylebook, discussing campaign strategy or researching a public issue, I’m constantly soaking up new and precious knowledge. For example, I recently learned about inexpensive, quick and easy video options for clients. I’ve also picked up exciting knowledge about using social media to market your personal brand. And today, my boss taught me an important lesson about parking tickets.
A wise man once said, “there’s no need to pay out of town parking tickets.” That, it turns out, is not so wise.

A wise man once said, “there’s no need to pay out of town parking tickets.” That, it turns out, is not so wise.
So thank you, Eric Sondermann, for taking advantage of the teaching moment that occurred this morning. You’ve connected us with the following valuable lessons:
- Parking tickets, in general, are easily avoided by paying for parking in advance.
- If you do receive a ticket, it’s a good idea to pay it.
- It is a bad idea to avoid paying parking tickets that you have received, even if they are outside the city you reside in.
- If you choose to fight the law (some call this, “sticking it to the man”) there is a fairly good chance you’ll lose.
- And finally, all it takes is a few quarters to avoid the wheel clamp (A.K.A. the Denver - or in this case, Colorado Springs - boot).
